MARGARET MUNYAGI

She is currently the Director General of the Authority since 1998 when the Authority was established as a semi-autonomous Government Executive Agency.

She has experience in aviation of more than 30 years holding different positions including Manager Maintenance at Dar es Salaam Airport, Airport Commandant at Dar es Salaam Airport and National Coordinator for UNDP, World Bank and ADB funded project on aviation and Director of Aerodromes.

Mrs Munyagi holds a Bachelor of Science (Engineering) from University of Science and Technology, Kumasi Ghana where she graduated in 1976 and Masters in Business Administration from School of Management Simmons College, Boston USA.

John Njawa
He is Director Safety Regulation since 2008. His experience in Aviation dates back about 30 years ago when he joined Abnitio training on the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering at Hindustan Institute Technology Madras, India.

Mr. Njawa, a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, holds a Masters of Science Degree in Air Transport Management. Prior to his appointment as Director of Safety Regulation, he was the Chief Airworthiness Inspector it the Authority.

Mr. Njawa has attended various courses which make him more experienced in aviation industry, some of them being, an Accident Investigation Course at Cranfield Institute of Technology, Cranfield Bedford England, Pratt Whitney Heavy Maintenance PW125 Engine course at Longeuil Canada and FAA and ICAO Government Inspectors Airworthiness Course.

John Njawa

FADHILI MANONGI
Mr. Fadhili Josiah Manongi was born in 1954 at Lushoto, Tanga Region. He joined Tanzania Civil Authority on 9th August 2005 as Director of Economic Regulation from TTCL where he was head of cooperate planning department, the post he held for seven years. Mr Manongi has vast experience and he has worked for the Ministry of industries and the United Nations Development program. Mr. Manongi’s main areas of expertise include strategic Business planning, Economic and Financial analysis, Market Research and Regulation. Mr. Manongi Holds a B A, in Economics, a post Graduate Diploma in Integrated surveys and an MA degree in Development Economics.

REUBEN RUHONGOLE
He joined the Authority in 2006 from the Institute of Social Work where he was a Director of Finance and Administration.

He has held various positions in different offices like Training Manager with SIDO, Director of Manpower and Administration with NUWA and Director of Corporate Planning and Financing with NIC.

He holds a Master degree in Management from Arthur D. Little Management Education Institute, USA and Bachelor Degree in Management and Administration from University of Dar es S.alaam, Tanzania.

CHARLES MICHAEL CHACHA
He is the Director of Air Navigation Services (DANS) after being appointed by the Board of Director of Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority on 11 June, 2009

Mr. Chacha, an Air Navigation Engineer, holds a Masters in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law. He has been in the aviation industry for more than 30 years.

Mr. Chacha has aviation work experience which includes, Chief Instructor ARM Engineering, CATC Tanzania from 1986-2004, Training Coordinator, DCA Headquarters 1982-1985, Operations Engineering Technician, DCA Tanzania starting 1977 to 1982 and Assistant Maintenance Engineer Trainee, EAC 1976-1977.

Prior to this appointment, he was the Principal of TCAA Civil Aviation Training Centre (CATC), the post he held from 2005.

OMARY NUNDU
Engineer Omar Rashid Nundu, 58, a graduate in Aeronautical Engineering (Glasgow) and a holder of an MSc degree in Air Transport Engineering (Cranfield) has been in aviation industry for more than 30 years.

He worked with the former East Africa Airways and Air Tanzania Corporation before joining the Eastern and southern African Management Institute (ESAMI) and later SADC. Mr. Nundu joined the TCAA in 2002 as Director of International Affairs and posited to Montreal Canada as a SADC alternate representative to International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council. He is currently a member of the ICAO Air Navigation Commission, the post he obtained after successfully being elected in ---. Mr. Nundu is married with four Children.
