 TCAA & M/S. PEJA EAST AFRICAN OF NETHERLANDS SIGNS CONTRACT FOR  SUPPLY AND INSTALLTION OF INSTRUMENTAL LANDING SYSTEM(ILS) FOR ABEID AMANI KARUME INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (AAKIA)

 

The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) and M/s. Peja East Africa of Netherlands on August 24, 2018 signed the contract for supply and installation of Instrumental landing System (ILS) for Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (AAKIA).

 

 The TCAA will also signed contract with Zanzibar Building Agency (ZBA) which is awarded the consultancy services for design and supervision of construction of infrastructures and related services to support the installation of ILS at AAKIA

 

The 4.6 Billion projects is scheduled to be implemented for 12 months and is 100 percent financed by the government through, Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) which is  the union institution for civil aviation matters.

 

The ILS project will enhance efficiency in provision of Air Navigations Services but also enhance safety by enabling precise landing at AAKIA.

 

The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) is a corporate body, established under the Civil Aviation Act, CAP 80 (R.E 2006). The Act mandates the Authority to regulate economic, safety and security aspect of the civil aviation industry as well as providing air navigations services in the United Republic of Tanzania.

 

Air navigation services are provided at 14 stations namely Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro,Tanga, Arusha, Mwanza, Tabora, Kigoma, Dodoma, Iringa, Songwe, Songea, Mtwara, Zanzibar and  Pemba.
