Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) is determined to increase the number of civil aviation experts, including pilots hence addressing inadequacy of civil aviation experts in the country. The commitment was made by the Director General TCAA Hamza S.Johari, during the official ceremony of announcing the 2nd batch of training fund beneficiaries, sponsored to attend the 24 months pilot training at Soroti Pilot school in Uganda.The funding is co –financed by government and air operators. DG Johari said, TCAA is in a process of coming up with special funding programs, using its own revenue to increase the number of youths that will be sponsored to attend the pilot training with the aim of sponsoring 15 beneficiaries each year. Speaking during the event Chairman of the Training Fund Abdulkadir Mohamed, said Soroti is the best East Africa Pilot school with the best trainers and long experience. Mr Mohamed is one of the Soroti alumni of 1974. He called on the beneficiaries to study hard and come back home to serve Tanzanian who paid for their training TCAA. In 2013 through its initial training fund TCAA sponsored five beneficiaries to attend an 18 months training in 43 Air School in South Africa, whereby four successfully completed their studies and currently working for Air Tanzania and Precision Air.
