The Tanzania Civil Aviation (TCAA) Board Chairman Prof. Lunginus Rutasitara has conducted a Board Licensing Meeting for air services operators and ground handling services operators. The purpose of the meeting was to approve application for air services and ground handling services applications.

Speaking during the meeting, the TCAA Acting Director General, Mr. Daniel Malanga said that, in order for operator to start operations, he or she must possess two documents which are air services license as well as air operator certificate.

Ag. DG Malanga also mentioned some of procedures for application of air and ground license and expressed that, “A company must be registered in Tanzania or other country, A company must possess a credible business plan, Must prove that the company is capable of operating its activities by providing to us a cash flow document”.

Malanga also stressed that, the meeting is being held to show transparency of various initiatives made by the Authority especially on the process and procedures for licensing applications to stakeholders.

On the other part, Ms. Eufrasia Bille from TCAA has informed the participants that, the Authority has received a total of 16 applications where 14 are air services license applications and two are for ground handling license.

The Board Licensing Meeting has been conducted in November 30th, 2021 at TCAA Headquarter where air operators and ground handlers participated. Other participants are airport operators, TCAA-CCC as well as aviation stakeholders.
