Dodoma, April 10, 2025 – Employees of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) have been commended for operating one of the most effective and productive Workers’ Councils among public institutions, a platform that continues to contribute significantly to key decisions aimed at improving the country’s aviation services.
The praise was issued by Treasury Registrar Mr. Nehemia Mchechu during the official opening of TCAA’s Second Workers’ Council for the 2024/2025 financial year, held in Dodoma.
Mr. Mchechu emphasized the vital role of the council in promoting workplace democracy and urged members to ensure feedback is delivered to the employees they represent. He noted that such inclusivity strengthens unity and boosts institutional performance.
“This council is not just a platform for discussion—it is a bridge toward meaningful improvements in the work environment. You must use it as a tool for positive transformation and ensure every employee has a voice in the journey of institutional development,” he said.
He also applauded TCAA management for creating a conducive work environment that enhances the council’s performance, adding that their approach should serve as a model for other public institutions.
Speaking at the event, TCAA Director General Mr. Salim Msangi reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to improving the work environment to enable all employees to carry out their responsibilities professionally and help drive the aviation sector forward.
“Management acknowledges the contribution of every staff member. It is important for everyone to understand that TCAA is built through collective effort. Let us collaborate and support one another in achieving the goals of the Authority and the Government, while ensuring quality service delivery to Tanzanians,” said Mr. Msangi.
The Workers’ Council aims to strengthen open communication between management and staff, while jointly discussing strategies to improve services, work conditions, and institutional efficiency.
As part of enhancing understanding of developments in the aviation sector, council members will also conduct a site visit to observe the ongoing construction of the Msalato International Airport in Dodoma. The visit is intended to provide insight into the government’s efforts and TCAA’s role in advancing aviation infrastructure in the country.
