The Director General of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA), Dr. Jabiri K. Bakari, on May 19, 2026, held consultative meetings with aviation stakeholders at the TCAA Headquarters in Banana, Ukonga, Dar es Salaam.

The meetings were conducted in two separate sessions, with the morning session bringing together local aviation operators, while the afternoon session involved foreign operators operating within Tanzania’s aviation sector.

The sessions provided an opportunity for stakeholders to engage in open and interactive discussions with TCAA leadership, where they shared valuable insights on the state of the aviation industry as well as challenges affecting their operations.

Speaking during the opening of both sessions, Dr. Bakari introduced himself and reaffirmed his commitment, alongside the TCAA management team, to ensuring that the aviation industry in Tanzania continues to operate smoothly and achieve sustainable growth.

He noted that TCAA remains committed to working closely with all aviation stakeholders in improving service delivery and strengthening the sector.

Dr. Bakari also informed participants that TCAA is currently revamping and harmonizing its  systems in order to simplify business processes and improve efficiency. He encouraged stakeholders to support the ongoing improvements for the benefit of the entire aviation industry.

Additionally, he announced plans by the Authority to establish a toll-free line and a dedicated help desk section aimed at improving communication and addressing stakeholders’ concerns more effectively.

During the discussions, stakeholders presented various recommendations, concerns and operational challenges affecting the aviation industry. In response, Dr. Bakari assured stakeholders that TCAA had carefully captured all issues raised and that the Authority’s management would work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure the concerns are properly addressed for the continued growth and improvement of Tanzania’s aviation sector.

Concluding the sessions, Dr. Bakari emphasized that TCAA is fully committed to supporting the growth of the aviation industry in Tanzania, stressing that just as the aviation sector operates 24 hours a day, TCAA is equally committed to serving the industry around the clock.

The stakeholder engagement sessions are ongoing.
