The Authority takes this opportunity to notify all air operators and aviation licence holders in the United Republic of Tanzania that, the Director of Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority has received notification letter from ICAO regarding effective date (28 December 2024) of revised limits of liability under The Convention for Unification of Certain Rules for International Carriage by Air done on 28 May 1999 at Montreal Canada (Montreal Convention, 1999). The Revised Limits of Liability includes the following:

Article 22, paragraph 1     (SDRs) 6 303
Article 22, paragraph 2     (SDRs) 1 519
Article 22, paragraph 3     (SDRs) 26
Regulation 64 of the Civil Aviation (Carriage by Air) Regulations, 2024 provides that where any limit of liability prescribed under these Regulations has been revised by ICAO, the revised limits shall immediately come into effect.
