Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) is a body corporate established pursuant to Section 29 of Civil Aviation Act Cap 80 (R.E.2020). The Act mandates the Authority to provide Safety, Security and Economic Oversight of the Civil Aviation Industry in Tanzania as well as provision of Air Navigation Services. 

The regulated services under the Authority are air transport services, aeronautical airport services (airside airport operations, ground handling, in-flight catering and aviation fueling) and air navigation services.

The Authority wishes to inform air operators, ground handlers and the general public that the TCAA Licensing Board shall be holding its Licensing Board Meeting on 30 May 2025. New applicants and operators whose licenses are due for renewal between May and June 2025 or wish to vary their licenses, are invited to submit applications as appropriate, for consideration by the Board.

Applications for renewal of Air Services License shall be in accordance with Tanzania Civil Aviation (Licensing of Air Services) Regulations, 2006, including regulations 8 (3), 25 (3) and 25 (6) of the Regulations while Ground Handling Services applications shall be in accordance with regulations 6 and 7 of the Civil Aviation (Ground Handling Services) Regulations, 2012.

New applications for Air Services License shall be in line with regulations 8 (2) and 8 (3) of Tanzania Civil Aviation (Licensing of Air Services) Regulations, 2006 whereas new applications for Ground Handling Services License shall be in line with regulations 6 and 7 of the Civil Aviation (Ground Handling Services) Regulations, 2012.

Copies of the referred Regulations and application forms can be obtained directly from the Headquarters of Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority at the Aviation House, Ukonga – Banana or downloaded from the TCAA website, www.tcaa.go.tz. 

All applications, with relevant enclosures, including proof of payment of the relevant application fees, should be submitted to the undersigned by 15:30 hours on 31 March 2025.
