Subject: REPORTING MECHANICAL IRREGULARITIES
BACKGROUND The Authority as a regulatory body responsible for overseeing and regulating the aviation industry to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with international and national standards has noted with concerns that some air operators and aircraft owners influence their pilots not to write mechanical irregularities in aircraft technical logbooks once they happen during operations as required by regulation 165 of the Civil Aviation (Operation of Aircraft β Commercial Air Transport) Regulations, 2024.
APPLICABILITY This AOL (2024/03) is applicable to General Aviation aircraft owners and Commercial Air Transport Air Operators and pilots flying for general aviation and commercial air transport.
ACTIONS REQUIRED 1. Aircraft Owners β General Aviation Pilot-in-command to ensure that all mechanical irregularities occurring during flight time are entered in the aircraft technical logbook and dealt with in accordance with the minimum equipment list or other approved or prescribed procedures.
