The Director General of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA), Dr. Jabiri K. Bakari, on June 16, 2026 held discussions with a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at the Authority’s Headquarters in Ukonga Banana, Dar es Salaam.

The delegation was led by Mr. Hara Shinji, Senior Advisor (Airport and Aviation) from JICA’s Infrastructure Management Department.

The visit forms part of JICA’s engagement with key stakeholders in Tanzania’s aviation sector aimed at identifying areas of cooperation between JICA and Tanzania, as well as potential support opportunities that could contribute to the development of the sector.

During the discussions, the two sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, including aviation infrastructure development, human resource capacity building, aviation safety and the enhancement of operational efficiency within the sector.

The meeting demonstrates TCAA’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with international development partners in advancing the aviation sector and supporting the country’s sustainable development objectives.
