The Director General of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA), Dr. Jabiri K. Bakari, received a courtesy visit from Michael Castle, Senior Aviation Consultant from The Boeing Company, on 26 September 2026 for discussions on matters relating to aviation safety, technical oversight and Tanzania’s continued engagement with international aviation requirements, including the Third Country Operator (TCO) framework. The meeting was also attended by Eng. Peter Ulanga, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) of Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL), and members of the TCAA Management Team.

The meeting provided an opportunity for The Boeing Company, TCAA and ATCL to exchange views on technical and regulatory matters and explore areas for further cooperation. The engagement forms part of continued efforts to strengthen Tanzania’s aviation regulatory environment and support the industry in meeting applicable international requirements.

Following the discussions, it was agreed that The Boeing Company would engage further with the relevant TCAA technical teams to work through the matters discussed and provide the necessary technical support and expertise. The engagement reflects the importance of continued cooperation between global aviation industry partners, operators and Tanzania’s aviation regulator in strengthening safety, compliance and the sustainable development of the aviation sector.
