The Director General of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA), Dr. Jabiri Kuwe Bakari, has received the 2026 ICT Lifetime Achievement Award at the TEHAMA Awards 2026 ceremony held on 9 August 2026 in Dar es Salaam.

The award is part of the Special Recognition Awards, which recognize individuals who have made exceptional and long-standing contributions to the development of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector in Tanzania.

Dr. Bakari was recognized for his long-term contribution to ICT leadership, the development and management of digital systems, professional capacity building, and advancing the use of technology in the delivery of public services.

The award was presented to Dr. Bakari by the Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Hon. Angellah Kairuki.

The ICT Lifetime Achievement Award is presented exclusively to individuals who have made a lasting contribution to the growth of the ICT sector through leadership, development of digital systems and infrastructure, policy development, talent development, or the establishment and strengthening of ICT institutions and services.
