The National Civil Aviation Security Committee held its 67th meeting on 25 September 2026 at the Headquaters of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) in Dar es Salaam.

The meeting  was chaired by the Committee Chairman, who is also the Director General of TCAA Dr. Jabiri K. Bakari. In his opening remarks, Dr. Jabiri commended the Government and all  stakeholders in Tanzania's aviation sector for their collective efforts  on ensuring that air transport in the country continues to operate safely in accordance with national and international standards.

Dr. Bakari further explained that the purpose of the visit conducted on 24 September 2026 by members of the committee to Mikumi, Kogatenge and Seronera airstrips, which are owned by the Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA), was to assess the actual safety conditions at the airstrips. These facilities receive a large number of passengers, many of  whom are tourists from various countries around the World.

Dr. Bakari urged that Committee members to continue working diligently to ensure that air transport remains safe, contributing to the growth of the aviation sector and the overall development of the country' s economy.
