The Director General of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA), Dr. Jabiri K. Bakari, held a strategic meeting with the East Africa Regional Representative of IndiGo airline, Mr. Adil Eltaff, at the TCAA Headquarters in Ukonga Banana, Dar es Salaam, on June 23, 2026.

The meeting served as a formal introductory engagement ahead of the anticipated commencement of IndiGo’s direct flights between India and Tanzania in October 2026.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Jabiri K. Bakari reaffirmed TCAA’s commitment to fostering an enabling environment for airlines to conduct business in Tanzania.

For his part, Mr. Eltaff noted that IndiGo has identified significant opportunities on the Tanzania and India route, particularly in the tourism and business sectors, which are expected to stimulate economic activity and strengthen bilateral trade relations between the two countries.
